Welcome to Ms. Gearhart's 5th Grade!
Energetic 5th grade students continue to embrace the new AVID Elementary curriculum. While learning these strategies the students continue to take 2-column notes to organize their learning and understanding. They have realized how easy it is to stay organized and that these strategies will help them be successful throughout their learning journey and beyond. Students have learned how to compost using red wiggler worms and are currently composting in the classroom. They have also learned about recycling and protecting the wildlife during the Lorax project that they participated in with Mrs. Zollman's 3rd grade. The project ended with a trip to see the Lorax in 3D. The students also continued their practice of fractions while making individual pizzas including the dough from scratch.
